I am in the process of deciding whether I have the time to start a blog and whether I feel I have the creativity to keep it fresh and innovative. Your tips and pointers are greatfully received and I will let you know how I get on.

That's funny, Lillie! I, too, have noticed a mix of old and new which makes me wonder why some of my newer ones haven't done as well.

I am familiar with that plug-in: it can be a great way to ensure that even more traffic is driven to your evergreen articles.

Matt,

This is good advice. I always expected my recent posts to be read the most. However, my most popular article, How Much Will It Cost? Average Freelance Editing Rates, was written in October 2007. That one article gets 300-400 pageviews every month.

I've recently installed the daily popular posts plugins, and 1/3 to 1/2 of the most popular posts every day are at least a year old. Not sure if that means my older posts are timeless or my more recent posts aren't as good. :-)
.-= Lillie Ammann´s last blog ..Excerpt: The Shortest Distance =-.
