This sounds just like my Best 101 Lists.. which I wrote when I couldn’t come up with a topic to write and it caught fire on Delicious, SU AND Digg eventually crashing the server.. nevertheless it was a thrill Congrats Matt..

@Dominique Sometimes it is hard to gauge what will catch fire and what won’t. This is the first time Delicious picked up and ran with an article I wrote. Digg, Reddit, and many others? Nada!

I am finding the same results with SU. The bounce rate with SU is really high whereas Delicious, Twitter and believe it or not for my blog, blog catalog. My bounce rates are almost nil. Great article! .-= Dominique´s last blog ..The art of LETTING go =-.

Larry, it isn’t hard to tell when an article goes viral–stats reflect it–but it is hard to gauge which ones will catch fire. I think that is what you meant. In any case, yeah it can be defining moment for any blog especially if the server crashes!

Thankfully, mine held up throughout the day.

It's hard to tell when an article is going to go viral, isn't it Matt? I remember an article I wrote during the 2008 Presidential campaign. It was about the Bristol Palin pregnancy rumor and I published it on the morning of Labor Day.
