@Laura Spencer Newsletters can come in handy especially if we lack a magazine article or strong blog post to show. In your case, Laura, you have written some very good stuff lately (especially on Freelance Folder) that those articles alone should suffice.

Very good tips, I do have links to my online writings at my site. However, your post reminded me that I have edited two company newsletters and an organizational newsletter over the span of my career. (This doesn't even include my college newspaper work.) Actually, both ways help. Each of the three magazine editors I work with found me through one of my automotive blogs. And, those articles aren’t my best writings.

Print or online, I’ll take them as they come!

i would prefer to write an article in magazines rather than writing at your blog, because publishing article in magazine would draw many people’s attention to you.

Thanks for the tip on Google Knol. I wasn’t aware of that. I do think often times newbie writers get focused on lack of clips and allow it to hold them back. Good info!
