Memorial Day 2009

The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier stands as a visible reminder of the sacrifices America's military men and women have made down through the ages. This weekend, my sense of gratitude for what they gave to preserve our nation and our freedom is magnified as Memorial Day approaches. Let us thank God for our fallen service personnel and remember the families of those left behind.

this is a best day to remember those innocent people who can be considered as heroes because of their sacrifices.

Thanks, Kenneth. Paying the ultimate sacrifice is certainly heroic. Let us never forget the price they paid to give us the freedom we still have.

I still don’t understand the reason behind wars… If there’s God to thank, then to whom should we thank for the war? That’s really an ironic reality. Each family prays to God that their husbands or fathers be safe at war… shouldn’t that mean that the enemies get killed instead

Details, I don’t thank God for wars. I thank God for bringing me through whatever situation I’m in. I would say that is the sentiment of many people: they realize that there are things that are beyond their control, but they also know that there is a God who wants mankind to choose peace, particularly that which can only be found in the Prince of Peace — Jesus Christ. Until then, we’ll still have wars and rumors and wars with families losing loved ones and a need to remember their service.

Great day to remember those unknown American military Heroes. I’m just wondering why heroes where only called heroes when they were already killed?

Kim, I’m not saying that these men and women were only heroes when they died. To me, they are special because they lost their lives in battle and, in many cases could have chosen to fled instead of served.

Sometimes it makes me sad that we need one special day to remember our veterans. They formed the country as we know it and we should think about them more often.
