I hear you, Christian Singles! There was a time when I was getting some nice monthly checks for AdSense, but that time seems long ago. Still, if it comes down to money recognition v. PageRank, the former wins out every time!

The only measurement I'm concerned about is the length it takes Google to write numbers on my Adsense check! :)

Yes, I know that if I can't measure value I wouldn't be gaining good links and wouldn't know why I'm not ranking for phrases and what not. I'm just saying.

In my humble opinion the pagerank is useful only for 2 things: selling links or selling the website itself. That's all.. it's not useful for anything else

Well, Windows Vista doesn't work with a lot of things it probably should work with... PageRank to me is kind of a secondary metric to just about everything else. Alexa ranking also tends to be somewhat arbitrary, so I normally look more at the percentage of traffic I get from various sources (social, organic, etc.) as a measurement of how well my sites are doing.

@ Lee -- Traffic definitely matters the most. Without it, you cannot get the conversions needed to fuel your business. Unfortunately, PageRank doesn't always correspond with traffic increases.

@ Alexa -- I had no idea that Windows Vista and Alexa do not work together. I can see how this could become a greater problem moving forward.

@ Bruce -- Your English is fine! As you said, SERPs rule! I used to be concerned about PageRank, but when I realized I was dominating the SERPs for several important words and phrases, my interest in PageRank waned.

I think in the pagerank is not longer the important factor to be successfull in e-marketing. Many different things come together. As example I have a blog with an PR of 2 and it has really nice serps. For the main keywords it is under the first ten and many other keywords for this blog are really nice placed, too!

Sorry for my english :)

Alexa rankings can't be the sole determinants of measuring a sites importance and popularity as the http://www.alexa.com/siteinfo/fortunehotels.in rankings do not take into account all the browser types like Windows Vista etc.

I think higher searcn engine ranking for certain keyword is better than higher PR (Of course PR represent the value of your blog), both of them have relation, higher SERPS would brings you more organic traffics and the chances that they link you becomes higher. With that said, you might be able to gain higher PR in the end too. :)
Traffic is the key of success. :D

Lee
