		<description>Actually, there are two different things that will get reported as trackbacks in most WP blogs that separate them from comments.

The first is actual trackbacks, where the publishing page sends an active track back to your blog.

The second (and this is what you have here) is a pingback. With a pingback WordPress detects the link through to your post when someone clicks on it, and then decides whether the link qualifies as a pingpack or is just a standard referral link.

If it qualifies as a pingback it is stored just as a real trackback would be.
