Writing, SEO, and Life’s Pursuits
There have been times where I have spent eight to ten hours each day for weeks on end doing little else but writing for several clients. Although I enjoy writing, there is often something that gets neglected when I work at such a torrid pace.
Chief amongst the neglected areas is the optimization of my sites, a task that really doesn’t come about all by itself, but with some careful planning on the part of the web manager. I find that if I devote one or two hours per day to blogging, adding in my tags, and linking to my sites and to other sites, that these steps benefit me in the long run.
Yet, I also enjoy taking a break right in the middle of the day which is something that I don’t do enough. For the most part I eat lunch while working and then grab some time at the end of the day to spend with my family, take a walk, etc. However, those mid-day breaks are often the best thing for me as I come back feeling refreshed and ready to get back to my writing. The key for me to remember is that personal time should never be surrendered no matter how pressing the project might be.
