Blog Monetization Done Right
I have been doing some experimenting with three blogs that I run to see how a new form of blog monetization is working out. Known as PPP or Pay Per Post, these types of advertisements are actually blog entries that work as “plugs” for various companies interested in receiving a review of their site or as way to push their products.
Although I have been using PPP for six weeks now I cannot honestly say that it is a great way to monetize your site. Indeed, with payouts as little as $4.00 per entry, oftentimes it simply isn’t worth the effort. Although I can create up to three entries per day on three different blogs, sometimes the offer is pulled before you have the chance to finish the entry. Yes, you have to have the entire entry completed and the appropriate links included in the blog before your entry is reviewed. Getting an “all offers have been filled” notice is extremely annoying especially when you have poured your heart into writing what could be a well written 100 or 200 word review.
I have also signed up for Review Me’s site and what they have to offer may be more promising for bloggers in the long run. Instead of battling with others to write about a particular company or product, you are approached by advertisers with the opportunity to blog about them. As long as you agree to their terms you can receive $20 to $200 per entry, certainly not chump change. So, I am looking forward to using this vehicle of blog monetizing as I gradually phase out my PPP participation.
By the way, Daniel Lindberg also shares his opinion about Review Me on his Blogger Skills site.
