Extracurricular Activities
Although I call myself a writer and realize the bulk of my income through my writing services, I have certain “extracurricular activities” to round out what I do. Advertising through my sites via Google and banner ads are two additional areas while web site development/management and resume design/posting are two others. I guess you can say that I have a “5 prong” approach to making a living.
The one area that has kept me busy lately besides the article writing is the resume aspect. Specifically, each of the corporate flight attendant resumes I post for members of my business aviation web site, the Corporate Flight Attendant Community. When I post someone’s resume it is for one year and includes one update at some point during that year. For just $89 the prospect gets a professionally designed and linked resume to my site which happens to be one of the top performing sites on the internet for corporate flight attendants.
I use web site templates through various open source sites to produce each resume. That way, only the nicest looking resumes are posted.
I suppose I could charge $150 or more for this service, especially when you consider the time involved in making up each resume, uploading each file to the internet, and marketing the resumes. However, I consider this task more a way of helping others out while allowing me to receive a nominal fee for my services.
Truly, this is a win-win situation and one that keeps me busy between article writing assignments.
