Prosper: Avoiding Banks to Finance Your Biz

If you are self employed, you may have considered borrowing funds to help take your business to the next level. This can be a costly proposition especially if your local banker isn’t fond of your business plan.

Well, the internet has a new way to help you borrow money — from strangers, that is. Prosper.com is a site where borrowers and lenders get together apart from the banks. Prosper brings together ordinary people to do something extraordinary — provide loans. Whether you need to consolidate debt, get funding for your business, put a new roof on your house, etc. you can get it done through this particular web site.

I won’t say anything else about the service other than that I haven’t used it. Still, it is intriguing idea, one that may help you work through a difficult situation. Check it out!

Reciprocity And This Blog

Once in awhile I get a request to exchange links with another site owner. If they are a writer, author, or someone else who has anything to do with “word management” then they are a natural fit.

Last week Anne Wayman of The Golden Pencil fame made mention of me in one of her blog entries and we exchanged links. I have been faithfully reading Anne’s blog for several months now and participating [or lurking] on her forum. I like Anne’s simple homespun advice for writers, plus she attracts a nice following of experienced writers too!

While I do have certain parameters for reciprocity, feel free to drop me a line and mention that you would like to trade links. New links typically are added once or twice a week.

At the very least, maybe I’ll get to know more about some of this blog’s many visitors. I know that you are there even if you don’t normally leave a comment. :-)
