Junk Web Content
Anne Wayman mentioned on her The Golden Pencil blog today about an article appearing in the Wall Street Journal concerning the various purveyors and peddlers of web content junk out there. It seems that for as little as $2 per 500 word article, content is being produced and circulated around the net, often posing as legitimate and accurate information. This is very unfortunate.
As someone who makes a living writing articles, I certainly know first hand the type of “employer” seeking someone to produce this type of rubbish. As Anne pointed out, it will probably take the search engines — such as Google — to stop the flow. Unfortunately, the tie-in between content and Google AdSense revenue makes this event an unlikely occurrence.
